Ghana’s ministry of information has reacted to the rumors concerning the government sanctioning people who refuse to take the Covid-19 vaccine. There has been a mixed interpretation of the Covid-19 vaccine ever since the Ghana government was able to secure over 600,000 Covid-19 vaccines.
The Covid-19 vaccination exercise in Ghana started a few days ago with massive acceptance while some Ghanaians have not shown interest even though the general vaccination has not yet taken place. Some Ghanaians believe it’s an evil agenda of the western world to reduce the numbers of African people through the Covid-19 vaccine.
There has been fake news on social media platforms that the Government will sanction anybody who refuses to take the covid-19 vaccine. The ministry of information has therefore issued a press statement condemning the act and assures the general public that the government has no intentions of sanctioning anybody who does not take the Covid-19 vaccine.
The ministry assures the general public that, the Ghana government has not rolled out any such sanction and advice the general public to ignore such deceptive information. The ministry continues to say it will edge every Ghanaian to take part in the fight against Covid-19 and also take part in the vaccination exercise because it is tested and safe.
